A Taste of the Weekend

Edslobsterroll

Went to the newly opened Ed’s Lobster Bar Friday night.  The verdict?  If I can’t go to Maine, I’ll stick to Pearl Oyster Bar for the time being, although I still have yet to return to the new home of Black Pearl.

interesting – any particular reason you prefer Pearl over Ed’s?

Granted, Ed’s just opened, so any service kinks were forgivable, but sand in my fried clams is not. I also thought the mayo in the lobster roll was a bit too heavy for my taste, as was the batter on the clams.

Get thee to Mary’s Fish Camp! If you’re not a decor queen (and who is when you’re tearing apart robster craws) I’d rather take out my frustration on a crustacean at Mary’s any day…

I like Mary’s Fish Camp for their “lobster knuckles,” and particularly like their Brooklyn outpost as it’s much roomier, but I still prefer the lobster roll at Pearl to the one at Mary’s.
