Just a quickie post before heading off to Delaware for the weekend. Saw the Pretenders last night with Rob Y. at Roseland Ballroom. All I’m sayin’ is that I hope I can rock that hard when I am Chrissie Hynde’s age. I have one more week of craziness and then I’m of to Hawaii — who can tell me where to eat in Waikiki?

i was in waikiki a couple years ago but it was on a tight budget so i don’t know anything about the food other than there are lots of noodle joints around and tons of super-pricey tourist spots…i suggest touring around the island outside the brash tourist mecca of waikiki for some more “authentic” food.
and when you’re done with all your travels we should get together for a drink here in nyc…

Waikiki is sort of Las Vegas without the gambling but with a beach. Three spots I liked were:
Leonard’s Bakery for malasadas – the most incredible donut on the planet. Technically it might not be in Waikiki but it’s not far.
L&L Barbecue for their plate lunches (try moco loco)
Duke’s is very touristy but the fish is great and it’s right on the beach.
If you get a chance to drive around the island there are all sort of shrimp shacks and shave ice places on the north shore.
