Let me just start out by saying that buying an apartment in a tight time frame is not something I would recommend if you can avoid it. This week has been a bit over the top — in between working, Gothamist, boxing, and everything else I do, I’ve had to find and hire a lawyer, apply for a mortgage, juggle around some financial stuff and make sure everything is done on schedule to close by year’s end — not a lot of wiggle room involved. I have managed to have some fun as well — Friday night a bunch of us went to Friday Night Fights, a night of amateur boxing and muy thai — it was the first time I had ever seen a real live fight before and, I have to say, I enjoyed it more than I expected! I ran into both of my boxing instructors as well as some friends from college, and all it all, it was a good time. Saturday, Lauren and I had brunch at Silent H and had some outrageously tasty banh mi sandwiches and then Neil and Tara were kind enough to drive me and my bike back to Manhattan — Lauren had been babysitting it since we got rained out on our last bike ride waaay back in September (thanks!!!). Today I had Carlos, Karen, and David over for a relaxing brunch, and tonight is a wine club society reunion — looking forward to it! After that, back on the crazy train for the week . . .

I have resided in chiang mai for approx 9 months now. Finally broke down and quit renting a motorcycle — nothing like the custom harleys I used to build in the americas
