No matter how tiny it is, everyone wants to be in the kitchen! Here's the whole Thanksgiving crew in my Manhattan kitchen (for outside-NYC comparison, it's roughly the size of a large closet). The menu turned out great (the stuffing was a personal favorite) and the leftovers are delicious.

Catching Up and Slowing Down
As is my typical pattern, after running myself ragged for the past few weeks I'm now paying the price with a hacking cough and a fever. That said, it was worth it. I had an amazing weekend at the Mates reunion (more on that to come), and one of the highlights of last week was a visit to the Astor Center by Chicago's Hot Doug's — Bill and I had pigs in blankets, a perfect Chicago Dog, a Foie Gras and Sauternes Duck Sausage with Truffle Aioli, Foie Gras Mousse and Sel Gris, and duck fat fries. Delicious. More pictures here.
Unfortunately, I have a stupidly busy week. Here's to hoping that one day working from home will do the trick to get me back to 100%.

Homecoming
I'm heading up to Tufts this weekend for the Amalgamates 25th anniversary celebration. The Mates are a coed a cappella group that I was in for three of my four years at Tufts and whose alumni and members have been a part of my life ever since. People are coming in from all over the world to celebrate and sing, and I'd be shocked if I have much of a voice left after the weekend. Can't wait to see everyone!!! Oh, and apparently there's a football game?

I Am a Delicate Flower
and did I mention classy? I had to share this picture with you as it made me crack up beyond belief and I enjoy embarrassing myself on the internet. The story behind it is that Leo (who was behind the camera) was saying that I always make the same face whenever he points a camera at me. So I decided to make this one instead. Photo by Leo Borovskiy of Lush Life Productions (whose more serious photos are fantastic).

Kismet Vacation
Didn't take all that many pictures, but I captured some of the big meals including the grilled pizza experiment and the seafood extravaganza. You can find them all here.

Yoga, Kismet Style
Just returned from morning yoga at the Kismet Fire House on Fire Island. It was a fairly mellow yoga class, although every time the instructor gave a direction, she'd say something like "turn towards the lighthouse," "reach your arm towards the bay." But my absolute favorite direction was "point your front foot towards the beach and your left foot towards West Islip." Only on Fire Island.
