
It’s a baby hat! It was my first knitting experiment outside of the realm of scarves, so it was somewhat intimidating. But it actually looks like a hat, so I’m pretty damn proud of myself. I got the pattern from
Stitch ‘N Bitch — it’s the Umbilical Cord hat (because of the little knot on top). I’m sending it off tomorrow — perfect timing too, because I just received the birth announcement for the intended recipient today!

I read once that to estimate sizes, ‘a hat for a baby should fit a grapefruit.’
Somehow I mis-estimated, and my first hat ended up small enough to fit a tangerine…

I just made two of these hats, in the EXACT same colour! They are so great. It was my first project on circular needles and it was so much fun to make.
